  1. Job Title:                    Head Teacher (1)

Reports to:                 School Board

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • In charge of overall day-to-day administration and management of the school.
  • Plans: for physical development of the School and Professional development of staff;
  • Plans, organizes, directs and co-ordinates quality teaching/ learning programmes and activities by staff and a safe learning environment for learners.
  • Ensures proper planning, budgeting and accountability for the school activities and resources in consultation with the Board of Governors;
  • Co-ordinates the functions of the Board of Governors and accounts to them and to the Ministry of Education and Sports, Keeping records and managing all the data of the school
  • Coordinates with the District Education Office and the Education office of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in the Field/ Conference.
  • Supervises, provides technical support and guidance, and appraises all the employees of the School;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Bachelor’s Degree with relevant post graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized University / Institution.
  • Registered as a Graduate Teacher with the Ministry of Education and Sports
  • At least five (5) years teaching experience in a Secondary School, three (3) of which should be at a supervisory level in an institution.
  • Possession of a Master’s Degree in Education or Education Management or Curriculum Studies or Education Planning and Management or a Master’s degree in any teaching subject or Business Administration or Public administration or Management or Human Resource Management or Counseling Psychology or Religion, Peace and Conflict Management is an added advantage.
  • Candidates who are legally married according to the laws of Uganda are to be preferred.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • To ensure that teachers submit Schemes of Work at the beginning of the term and lesson plans weekly to his office.
  • To ensure that teachers attend to their classes as time tabled.
  • To compile fortnightly extra-teaching load and submit them to the bursar through the Head teacher.
  • To teach a reasonable load in his subject areas.
  • To prepare the general classes’ timetable. 
  • To assist the Head teacher in administering students’ interviews and admission.
  • To serve as Secretary to Academic Council, staff meetings and Appraisal committees.
  • To coordinate the activities of the class teachers, heads of department and subject teachers.
  • To copy teachers’ daily attendance to the Head teacher.
  • To assist the head teacher with coordination of exams and reports.
  • To serve as a member of the Academics Committee of the School Board
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the school administration.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for all matters relating to school finances and all resources. 
  • To advise the Head teacher and Administrative Council on financial matters.
  • To supervise all monetary collections in the school.
  • To check, approve and classify daily, weekly, and monthly records of all receipts and payments.
  • To ensure that daily banking is carried out.
  • To present school debtors’ and creditors’ detailed schedules to the head teacher on a regular basis.
  • To prepare financial statements periodically.
  • To submit weekly, monthly and termly financial reports to the head teacher.
  • To prepare a termly draft budget in collaboration with the Head teacher to be submitted to the finance committee of the board.
  • To serve as member of the School Finance committee.
  • To serve as the custodian of all school accounts documents and cheque books.
  • To approve and release funds for all purchases, cash and cheque requisitions after authorization by the Head teacher.
  • To serve as a member of the Officers’ and Administrative Councils and cafeteria committee.
  • In charge of safe guarding all school assets.
  • To ensure internal control of school resources.
  • To process staff personal emoluments
  • To prepare budget estimates and compute all revenues.
  • To receive and disburse funds as authorized.
  • To maintain proper cash accounts and prepare both monthly and daily abstracts.

  • A minimum of Diploma in Business Studies or Finance and Accounting with at least 1 years’ experience as an Accountant/ cashier or financial administrator in a recognized organization or Possession of professional qualification in CPA

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Designing spiritual programs and drawing a suitable roster for the school.
  • Training and assigning duties to chapel prefects and willing staff.
  • Producing necessary spiritually edifying materials for use by staff and students.
  • Monitoring and supervising all spiritual programs in the school.
  • Organizing spiritual revival programs.
  • Organizing spiritual community outreach programs and involving students and staff members.
  • To preach and teach the word of God.
  • To ensures effective monitoring of all the ecclesiastical funds.
  • To ensure availability of lesson quarterlies, Bible study guides and all other materials required in the school for the spiritual nurture of the school population.
  • To provide pastoral guidance and counseling to individual students and the staff members.
  • To serve as a member to the school discipline committee and the Administrative Council.
  • To advise the school Administration on spiritual and church policy matters.
  • To represent the school regarding religious functions at all levels.
  • To liaise between the District Leader of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and church in the school so that there is effective coordination and communication of activities and programs.
  • To minister in camp meetings, weeks of spiritual emphasis, crusades and in any other spiritual programs as the conference may require his/ her services.
  • To prepare and submit periodic performance reports to the head teacher, district leader and the field/ conference chaplaincy department as need may be.
  • To ensure that the Administration of the school rides along the Christian principles and ethical foundations and beliefs of the Adventist church policy and philosophy.
  • To submit termly budgets and purchase requisitions of the department to the Head teacher.
  • To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

A minimum of a diploma in theology from an Adventist institution or approved credentials for a track record in youth ministries at the level of Master guide or Senior Youth Leader.  Possession of a certificate in counseling, or diploma in Education is an added advantage.  Prior working experience of at least 2 years is required. Must be a baptized Seventh-day-Adventist in good and regular standing

  • To examine patients (learners and staff) and give them appropriate first aid treatment.

  • To formulate Budget plan for the school clinic in terms of medical supplies and framing plans.

  • Types notes authenticated by the DOS, Bursar or Head Teacher
  • Receives visitors and attends to their queries.
  • Receives telephone calls and channels, them to appropriate offices.
  • Books and schedules appointments for the Head of Institution.
  • Receives and dispatches mail.
  • Drafts letters and prepares responses to simple routine letters.
  • Looks after the office welfare and ensures that the office is well facilitated and secure.

  • Assists the teachers in preparation for science lessons and practical work.,

  • Assists teachers and students during science practical lessons.
  • Opens and closes the laboratory.
  • Keeps records of laboratory apparatus and equipment.

  • A Should have:- Either a Certificate in Laboratory Technology, with a minimum of five passes including English language and 2 credits in science subjects at ‘0’ Level OR ‘A’ Level Certificate with 2 principal passes in science subjects preferably from Physics, Biology, Chemistry or Agriculture with a minimum of five passes including English language and 2 credits in science subjects at ‘O’ Level

  • Collects food from the store and prepares it for cooking.

  • Serves meals from the cooking saucepans on to the appropriate serving utensils.
  • Maintains a clean kitchen at all times

  • Performs any other duties assigned by the relevant authority

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Ordinary Level Certificate with a pass in English Language

  • Strong, and physically fit
  • A qualification in Catering or Baking or Cookery shall be an added advantage.
  1. Job Title:                    Security Guard (2)

Reports to:                 Head Teacher

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide security and safety of staff, students and visitors/ clients at all times
  • Ensure that the School’s assets, premises and property are safe at all times
  • Man the School gates, entry records and exits and control entry and exit of traffic
  • Ensure surveillance of the School premises while on duty
  • Mount proper security checks of staff, students and visitors at all entrances
  • Stop and prevent any criminal activities taking place within the School premises
  • Enforce student’s exit and entry time, dress code, and other protocols as advised by school administration from time to time
  • In liaison with the Accounts Team, participate in monitoring and enforcing student’s clearance protocols as guided by the school administration
  • Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time by the relevant authority.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • O’ Level Certificate (UCE)
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved Security Guard Training course is a treasured ideal
  • At least one year’s experience in a similar role

  • Provides planned and emergency transportation services for employees, students, and visitors as may be required by the school administration.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of O’ Level Certificate with at least a pass in English
  • A valid driving permit of at least class B, with flexibility of a Cyclist’s class A.
  • A valid National Identity Card (ID)
  • Driving experience of at least 2 years.
  • Certificate in defensive driving.
  • Possession of a certificate in automotive mechanics or a diploma mechanical engineering shall be an added advantage.
